Refrigerated Transport: CO₂ Improves Performance at High Temperatures
September 16, 2026EVAPCO began production on August 31 at the new Phase IV facility of its subsidiary EVAPCO (Shanghai) Refrigeration Equipment Co., Ltd. in Shanghai. The new plant significantly expands the manufacturing space available compared with the previous facility and strengthens EVAPCO’s production capacity for the Asia-Pacific market.
The new facility was developed to meet growing demand and, in particular, to handle larger and more frequent orders, while improving the responsiveness of the regional supply chain.
The plant features a revised overall layout and reworked production processes. The additional floor space allows manufacturing resources to be allocated more flexibly, supporting more efficient production flows and enabling the facility to respond more quickly to market requirements.
Commissioning completed on schedule
The commissioning phase was carried out according to a particularly tight schedule, with several engineering activities closely interconnected and limited time available for inspections and trial runs.
The operations team, led by Joe Zhou and Alain Liu, coordinated equipment installation, safety inspections, process streamlining and personnel training, completing the preparatory work within the planned timeframe.
James Horsnell, Managing Director of EVAPCO AP, Richard Wang, General Manager of AP, and Alain Liu, Shanghai Plant Manager, attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony marking the official opening of the new facility.
With the new plant, EVAPCO aims to further strengthen its manufacturing presence in the region and establish a production platform better equipped to meet the evolving needs of the Asian refrigeration market.
The industrial and commercial refrigeration, logistics, freezing and cryogenics sectors will meet at REFRIGERA, the international industry event, taking place at Bologna Exhibition Center from November 10 to 12, 2027.
