AWA expands component portfolio and strengthens wholesale distribution channel

AWA (Armaturenwerk Altenburg), part of the BITZER Group, is expanding its range of components for refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pump applications while strengthening its presence through the wholesale distribution channel.

As of June 1, 2026, the German company, based in Thuringia, has expanded its portfolio to include ball valves, solenoid valves, expansion valves, filter driers and sight glasses. The new range complements the existing product offering and enables AWA to address a wider range of applications in the refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pump sectors.

The expansion of the product portfolio goes hand in hand with a strengthening of the company’s sales strategy. AWA aims to intensify its cooperation with wholesalers, with the goal of making its products more widely available on the market and progressively expanding its presence internationally.

AWA’s membership in the BITZER Group, which dates back to 2013, provides the industrial framework within which the company is developing this new phase of growth. The Altenburg-based company retains its own identity and expertise in component manufacturing while, at the same time, operating within the broader structure of the German group, which is active in refrigeration and air conditioning technology.

“With the expansion of our product portfolio, we are clearly demonstrating our commitment to growth and innovation,” says Volker Simon, AWA Plant Manager.

Alongside the expansion of its product range, AWA also intends to strengthen its relationships with the distribution channel. “We aim to make our solutions even more widely available in the future,” Simon adds.

The strategy therefore focuses on two key areas: a broader product portfolio and greater commercial reach. With these initiatives, AWA aims to respond to evolving demand in the refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pump markets while strengthening its position within the BITZER Group and on international markets.
