AWA is expanding its range of components and strengthening its wholesale distribution channel

AWA (Armaturenwerk Altenburg), part of the BITZER Group, is expanding its range of components for refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pumps, while also strengthening its presence through the wholesale distribution channel.

As of June 1, 2026, the German company, based in Thuringia, has expanded its product portfolio to include ball valves, solenoid valves, expansion valves, filter driers and sight glasses. The new range complements its existing offering and enables AWA to serve a wider variety of applications in the refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pump sectors.

The expansion of its product range is accompanied by a strengthened commercial strategy. AWA aims to intensify its cooperation with wholesalers, making its products more readily available on the market and gradually expanding its international presence.

AWA’s membership in the BITZER Group, dating back to 2013, provides the industrial framework within which the company is pursuing this new phase of growth. The Altenburg-based company retains its own identity and specialization in component manufacturing while benefiting from the broader structure of the German group, which operates in the refrigeration and air conditioning technology sector.

“With the expansion of our product portfolio, we are clearly demonstrating our commitment to growth and innovation,” says Volker Simon, Plant Manager at AWA.

Alongside the expansion of its product range, AWA intends to strengthen its relationships with wholesale distributors. “Our goal is to make our solutions even more widely available in the future,” Simon adds.

The strategy therefore focuses on two key areas: a broader product portfolio and wider market coverage. Through these initiatives, AWA aims to respond to evolving demand in the refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pump markets, strengthening its position within the BITZER Group and across international markets.

The industrial and commercial refrigeration, cold chain logistics, freezing and cryogenics sectors will come together at REFRIGERA, the international industry event taking place at BolognaFiere from November 10 to 12, 2027.

AWA is part of the BITZER Group, which has already confirmed its participation in REFRIGERA 2027.
